About The Position

El Tigre Food Stores/Tex Best Travel Centers offers a fun, family-focused workplace intended to support team members’ success and growth. The Customer Service Associate provides outstanding customer service, maintains a clean and customer-friendly store, stocks and merchandises products, and operates the register. Work is performed primarily inside a retail store, with occasional work outdoors. The listed duties are not exhaustive, and additional duties may be assigned by supervisors or management.

Requirements

Experience with professional cash-handling procedures.
Experience in a convenience store and/or food service environment.
Basic computer knowledge.
Possess a Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission card to sell alcohol.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
High energy and a strong work ethic.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide professional and friendly assistance to customers, vendors, and other Associates.
Operate the cash register to ring sales.
Perform basic math to collect payments, make accurate change, and maintain an accurate cash drawer.
Follow Company policies and established store procedures, and comply with state and federal laws concerning alcohol, tobacco, and lottery sales.
Check customers’ identification for age-restricted products.
Perform regular cleaning to keep the store clean and orderly, including cleaning bathrooms and fuel dispensers.
Participate in stocking items and marketing promotion efforts.
