About The Position

The Customer Service Account Specialist serves as a key extension of the Sales team, responsible for managing customer accounts, processing high-volume orders, and delivering exceptional service. This role requires strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and a customer-first mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service and call center experience within a high-volume environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing deadlines
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word required)
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • High school diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

  • 2–3 years of customer service or account management experience preferred
  • Experience in a call center or high-volume customer-facing environment is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage customer orders received via phone, email, website, fax, and EDI with a high degree of accuracy
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product details, pricing, availability, and order status
  • Reconcile dealer and national accounts by auditing transactions, freight claims, and proof of delivery; process credits/debits as needed
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure accounts remain current and accurate
  • Apply pricing programs and discounts in coordination with Sales
  • Support transactions involving government entities and end-user billing
  • Review and release 200+ delivery receipts daily while maintaining accuracy and compliance
  • Provide online customer support for orders, invoicing, and payment inquiries
  • Proactively follow up with customers on backorders and coordinate timely release
  • Address and resolve customer complaints in partnership with internal departments
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on freight quotes, order status, and inventory updates
  • Generate customized reports using Excel and Access to support customer needs and business insights
  • Ensure consistent account coverage and support team operations as needed
