Job Overview The CRM Intern will support customer engagement efforts by helping execute lifecycle marketing campaigns, personalized customer communications, and loyalty experiences. This role provides hands-on experience in digital marketing and customer relationship management strategies. Macy’s summer internship program provides interns with a hands-on and in-depth understanding of a core business function in retail. Interns have opportunities to directly impact the business as a key part of a team and by sharing new ideas. Macy’s interns experience everything our culture has to offer through exposure to senior leaders and networking opportunities. This 8-week internship program will be held in Macy’s New York, New York Corporate offices.

Requirements

• Junior standing (rising senior at the time of the internship) pursuing a bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• All majors will be considered for this opportunity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling, presentation, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
• Strong retail math, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze sales, gross margin, inventory productivity, sell-through, and other key retail performance metrics; identify trends; and translate data into actionable business recommendations.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis techniques; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Basic understanding of financial performance metrics, profitability concepts, statistical analysis, and assortment planning.
• Ability to independently organize and prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external business partners while managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to run, interpret, and analyze reports using assigned systems and tools.
• Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to streamline processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive business results.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of member activations, campaigns, and customer engagement initiatives.
• Assist with lifecycle marketing communications across customer touchpoints.
• Help personalize customer communications from campaign development through performance measurement.
• Support digital experience enhancements designed to increase customer engagement and retention.
• Assist with campaign reporting, performance analysis, and optimization recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful campaign execution.
• Support special projects related to customer engagement and retention strategies.
