About The Position

Apollo.io is seeking a Customer Marketing Manager who is both a relationship builder and a system architect. This role involves engaging with customers, transforming their stories into impactful content and experiences, and building the infrastructure to support these initiatives at scale. The successful candidate will own Apollo's customer advocacy program end-to-end, including case studies, testimonials, and a community of engaged advocates. This role requires close collaboration with Sales to ensure timely access to customer proof points and aims to build a strong, engaged customer community, particularly within the upmarket segment. This is a senior individual contributor role with the opportunity to develop a program from its early stages.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in customer marketing, community, or advocacy at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Experience running a reference program, building case studies, and managing a community.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with customers.
  • Understanding of how reference selling works and the needs of sales teams.
  • Ability to identify compelling customer stories and guide interviews for content creation.
  • Operator mindset with experience in building systems, workflows, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Notion AI) for work.
  • Understanding of enterprise and mid-market buyer dynamics.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building or scaling an executive customer community (dinners, councils, roundtables).
  • Experience producing a podcast or video series featuring customers.
  • Experience in a company where customer advocacy was a significant revenue driver.

Responsibilities

  • Own case study production from interview to publish, ensuring content is accessible and utilized by sales representatives.
  • Build and manage a comprehensive and accessible testimonial library.
  • Run a customer advocate community, engaging customers for testimonials, co-marketing, content, and speaking opportunities.
  • Develop and manage a program for public advocacy across platforms like LinkedIn, G2, and community forums.
  • Facilitate sales by matching representatives with the right customer references quickly.
  • Build AI-powered systems to automate and accelerate advocacy programs, including tracking, matching, outreach, and production.
  • Develop and execute a strategy to scale the customer advocacy program and integrate customer stories into Apollo's brand.
  • Experiment with community programming initiatives such as dinners for buyers, podcast series, online communities, and AMAs.
