About The Position

The Customer Innovation & Transformation (CI&T) Intern supports strategic initiatives that improve customer experience, commercial effectiveness, and business processes across IDT. The position provides exposure to cross-functional teams, continuous improvement methodologies, customer-focused innovation, and digital transformation projects. The intern will complete a strategic project and present recommendations to business leaders while gaining practical exposure to customer experience, commercial excellence, and business transformation.

The position is part of the Customer Innovation & Transformation (CI&T) Team, located in Coralville, Iowa, and reports to the Director, Customer Innovation & Transformation.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
• Completed coursework in at least one of these areas: data analytics, statistics, process improvement, project management, or customer experience.
• Demonstrated analytical experience through coursework, internships, research projects, or student leadership activities.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills through presentations, coursework, leadership roles, or project participation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, data analysis, and charting, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with process improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, or Power Automate.
• Experience with AI, automation, customer experience, or business transformation projects.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial excellence and business transformation initiatives across IDT.
• Conduct data analysis and process mapping to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in customer journey mapping and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, operations, and digital functions.
• Deliver project findings and recommendations to leadership.
• Complete a strategic project and present recommendations to business leaders.
