About The Position

Billy Reid is seeking a Custom Stylist for their Washington D.C. Custom Showroom. This role involves guiding clients through the custom clothing experience, from measurements and fabric selection to final details. The ideal candidate will have a strong affinity for premium products, a love for working with people, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships. You will become a specialist in men's and women's wear, focusing on client measurements, fabric knowledge, customizations, alterations, and sales psychology. The role also involves proactively building a client base through outreach and events, setting appointments, conducting personalized wardrobe planning, and maintaining relationships throughout the client's journey.

Requirements

  • Direct sales experience – creative & strategic in approach
  • Excellent client relationship skills (new business development, sales, client facing roles)
  • Prior affiliation with successful customer-facing businesses, preferably in the luxury industry; having a natural ability to connect with clients and comfortably handle all personality types
  • Strong eye for detail & organizational skills
  • World class communication & interpersonal skills; written and verbal, handling yourself with confidence internally to peers and externally to clients
  • Independent decision-making skills with the ability to self-manage; whether it be your book of business
  • An entrepreneurial spirit - you take initiative to get things done

Responsibilities

  • Become a men’s and womenswear specialist based on training and development of client measurements, fabric knowledge, customizations, alterations, and sales psychology.
  • Proactively build a book of clients through different prospecting efforts (outreach, events, etc.) and build upon recurring client relationships.
  • Set appointments and meet with clients in showrooms to conduct personalized wardrobe planning for both casual and professional looks.
  • Guide clients through the custom experience, helping them choose fabrics, buttons, embroideries, and every detail that goes into handcrafting a one-of-a-kind custom garment.
  • Maintain personal relationships with clients from their first interaction through purchase, delivery, and ongoing orders.
  • Greet all customers with warmth & sincerity.
  • Handle all customer concerns in a proactive, positive manner.
  • Create a safe, ethical & clean work environment for all customers and Employees.
  • Build positive team relationships within your store and across the company.
