About The Position

The Custom Rug Hand Cutter is responsible for precisely hand-cutting custom rugs according to client specifications. The role involves interpreting work orders and diagrams, using hand-cutting tools, and inspecting finished cuts for quality and accuracy. It is physically demanding and requires extended periods working on hands and knees, climbing onto and off cutting tables, and safely lifting and maneuvering heavy rugs weighing 50 pounds or more, sometimes with assistance. The position is performed on a production floor where moderate noise, sharp cutting tools, and heavy materials are present.

Requirements

• Ability to read a tape measure and understand work orders and diagrams.
• Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Climb onto and off cutting tables to access different areas of rugs.
• Safely lift, carry, and maneuver heavy rugs weighing 50 pounds or more, often with assistance from team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Collaborate with cutters and other team members to support efficient production.
