About The Position

The Comber / Heavy Lifting role handles pumped bellies by impaling them on combs, placing them on a hook conveyor, and arranging them according to tree layout specifications. The employee marks lots, monitors pickle delivery and tank levels, and performs other duties assigned by the Crew Leader or Supervisor.

Work is primarily in a production plant environment, with wet or humid conditions, non-weather-related extreme cold and heat, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. The production area is loud, and hearing protection is always required. The role requires lifting up to 25 pounds and using designated safety equipment. Proper lifting and PPE training are required.

Responsibilities

• Pick up a comb and impale the flank end of a pumped belly, pressing down on the comb.
• Pick up the belly and comb and hang them on the hook conveyor.
• Place lot-marking tickets on the first and last four bellies of each lot.
• Ensure the pump is delivering pickle at all times.
• Maintain the pickle level in the pump tank.
• Hang bellies to match the tree layout specification.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor.
