About The Position

Smithfield is hiring a Pack Off Person to sort, inspect, stack, cover, wrap, and transport product pallets to the appropriate areas. The role also includes maintaining area housekeeping and performing other duties assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor. The position is primarily in a plant environment with wet or humid conditions, extreme heat and cold, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. The production area is loud, and hearing protection is always required. No job rotation is involved. Team members must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and meet the stated near- and far-vision requirement of at least 20/40. Responsibilities

Sort, inspect, and stack product according to product code or load number.
Visually inspect pallets, use those in good condition, and place unusable pallets to the side.
Cover each pallet with cardboard sheets.
Wrap loads, use cardboard corners when needed, and transport stock pallet loads to appropriate areas.
Maintain area housekeeping.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor.
