Art of Drawers is seeking a skilled Custom Refacing Installer for a part-time contractor position. The role focuses on kitchen cabinet refacing, including replacing cabinet doors and applying refacing materials to cabinet fronts and sides. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

Compensation is $40–$60 per hour, depending on pace and project size. The company provides three days of hands-on training covering installation standards, product systems, troubleshooting, and finish expectations. Materials are provided, with minimal administrative burden. Performance-based bonuses and referral fees may be available. Installers may also develop client relationships that lead to additional direct side projects outside Art of Drawers.

Requirements

• Proven experience in kitchen cabinet refacing or similar carpentry and installation work.
• Ability to measure, cut, and install materials precisely.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Carry own insurance and be a registered home improvement contractor in New Jersey.
• Own the tools needed for the work.

Responsibilities

• Install refacing materials on cabinets, including applying veneer and laminates to cabinet exteriors.
• Replace cabinet doors, ensuring precise alignment and fit.
• Perform work according to Art of Drawers’ quality and customer-satisfaction standards.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members to provide a seamless, professional experience.
