Part-time Cabinet Refacing Installer
About The Position
Art of Drawers is seeking a skilled Custom Refacing Installer for part-time contractor work. The role focuses on kitchen cabinet refacing, including replacing cabinet doors and applying refacing materials to cabinet fronts and sides. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Materials are provided, and the role involves minimal administrative work. The position averages $40–$60 per hour depending on pace and project size. It includes three days of hands-on training covering installation standards, product systems, troubleshooting, and finish expectations. Performance-based bonuses and referral fees may be available, and installers may develop ongoing client relationships that lead to additional side projects outside Art of Drawers. Art of Drawers has more than 20 years of experience in custom pull-out drawer design. Its products include custom kitchen pull-out drawers, pantry solutions, lighting solutions, and cabinet refacing.
Requirements
- Proven experience in kitchen cabinet refacing or similar carpentry and installation work.
- Ability to measure, cut, and install materials precisely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Carry own insurance and be a registered home improvement contractor in New Jersey.
- Have own tools.
Responsibilities
- Install refacing materials on cabinets, including applying veneer and laminates to cabinet exteriors.
- Replace cabinet doors, ensuring precise alignment and fit.
- Ensure work meets Art of Drawers’ standards for quality and customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to provide a seamless and professional experience.
