About The Position

As a Custom In-Home Installation Lead, you’ll contribute to the delivery, installation, configuration, and programming of advanced audio systems in residential and commercial spaces. You’ll meet custom installation standards for device mounting, cable management, power management, and audio product functionality. The role requires a solid understanding of general electrical and construction principles, as well as the ability to follow current National Electrical Code and Uniform Building Code standards and other codes or applicable laws mandated by the authorizing jurisdiction.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in sales, delivery, installation, or repair, or military equivalent.
• At least 2 years of customer service experience.
• Current, valid driver’s license.
• Ability to acquire and maintain any state or local licensing required to perform the job effectively within 90 days of hire.
• Maintain a driving record that meets Best Buy safety standards, such as having a minimal number of violations or accidents.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds individually or 150 pounds as a team.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Solid understanding of general electrical and construction principles.
• Ability to follow current National Electrical Code and Uniform Building Code standards, as well as codes or applicable laws mandated by the authorizing jurisdiction.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in an in-home experience environment.
• Experience selling and/or installing home or car AV equipment.

Responsibilities

• Establish cabling infrastructure in retrofit and new-construction work environments.
• Program basic automation and control systems.
• Collaborate with Best Buy sales teams, custom installation managers, engineers, programmers, general contractors, and subcontractors.
• Oversee customer deliveries, setups, tutoring sessions, and troubleshooting.
