About The Position

The Thomas Jefferson Foundation is seeking qualified applicants who are passionate about providing our guests with a positive experience. Custodians will perform consistent cleaning and sanitizing services at an assigned location and will occasionally perform duties in other locations throughout the property to support special projects and events. Custodians must be prepared to spend a significant amount of time outdoors, in all weather conditions, and walk uphill and on uneven terrain as we are located on a mountain. Custodians are considered frontline staff at Monticello and will interact with our guests throughout the day, so exemplary customer service skills are essential. This is an independent role, so successful applicants will be able to take initiative and have excellent time management skills.

Requirements

• Satisfactory work record
• Driver's license
• Possess a courteous, friendly, and professional demeanor.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to operate vacuum cleaners and other standard cleaning equipment.
• Must be able to lift or maneuver up to 25 lbs.
