About The Position

The Custodian performs semiskilled custodial and building maintenance work caring for and cleaning the Jimmy Floyd Center. The role includes routine interior cleaning, restroom upkeep, basic painting and repairs, waste disposal, and maintenance of the building grounds and facilities. The position involves indoor and outdoor work in varying environmental conditions and physical tasks such as lifting, moving objects, and operating light equipment.

Requirements

Education and experience equivalent to completion of the eighth grade.
Valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

Complete a daily task sheet covering assigned custodial duties.
Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and Venetian blinds.
Keep the custodian closet and equipment clean and orderly.
Maintain the upkeep and appearance of the facilities and premises.
Clean and supply restrooms daily.
Touch up paint on walls and clean them when necessary.
Clean up trash on the grounds and parking lots; rake leaves, trim bushes, and shovel snow during winter.
Vacuum, sweep, and damp- and dust-mop floors.
Move furniture, office equipment, and boxes.
Gather and dispose of refuse.
Paint and repair equipment, as needed.
Operate light equipment when necessary.
