About The Position

The Custodian performs cleaning and miscellaneous duties to help maintain the Keany building in a healthy and sanitary manner. The position involves cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, offices, conference rooms, break rooms, kitchens, floors, water fountains, entrances, exits, and outside grounds. The custodian also handles waste and recycling, replenishes supplies, and maintains storage areas and cleaning equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures and chemicals.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility and sound work ethics.
• High energy and a team attitude.

Responsibilities

• Wash and disinfect bathroom floors, toilets, sinks, fixtures, and mirrors.
• Replenish toilet tissue, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and hand soap as needed.
• Empty waste baskets and garbage cans daily.
• Clean outside grounds daily.
• Clean entrances and exits, including floors, glass, doors, and hardware.
• Clean offices and conference rooms and dust furniture and fixtures as needed.
• Damp mop hard-floor areas and vacuum carpeted areas.
• Clean break rooms and office kitchen areas, including sinks and counters.
• Clean and disinfect water fountains.
• Wash and scrub floors with a floor scrubber.
• Bale cardboard waste for recycling using the cardboard baling machine.
• Maintain storage areas and cleaning equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Restock supplies.
• Perform other related duties as required.
