About The Position

As a Custodian 1 for Auxiliary Facilities Services, you will perform custodial tasks under general supervision to maintain the cleanliness and care of facilities within residence halls, apartments, and dining areas. Duties include commercial cleaning, painting and spackling, and operating industrial cleaning equipment while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). You will clean restrooms, classrooms, residence halls, offices, and similar facilities, and move heavy items such as tables, furniture, cleaning equipment, and supplies.

The position requires bending, stooping, lifting and moving items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, standing and walking continuously throughout the shift, and climbing and standing on ladders. Employees may be assigned to shifts based on departmental and operational needs, including daytime, early morning, swing, late evening, alternative work week, and weekend schedules. Schedules may vary according to staffing requirements and availability.

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent, overtime-eligible position with a 12-month term. The monthly salary range is $3,195 to $4,201. Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the range and receive scheduled salary increments. A background check is required.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18.
• Ability to perform commercial cleaning duties, including painting and spackling, while wearing PPE and operating industrial cleaning equipment.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and lift and move items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift.
• Ability to climb and stand on ladders.
