About The Position

The description of tasks is not intended to outline every last detail of the custodian/landscapers position. It will serve to give a general impression of the duties relating to the job. Custodian: Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Service, clean, or supply restrooms. Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees. Gather and empty trash. Notify principal concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks. Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings. Drive vans, industrial trucks, or other vehicles required to travel to or to perform cleaning work. Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware or metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, or power cleaning equipment. Landscaper: Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties. Mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawnmower. Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls. Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes. Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others. Apply fertilizer to the ground to enhance growth. Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice down to keep people from falling. Perform routine maintenance duties such as applying plaster, fixing fountains, and other duties. Sweep the walkway of debris. Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger. Trim shrubs and pull weeds. Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping. Install lawn furniture. Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed. Install rock, cement, lighting, water, and furniture. Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer. Other duties as needed

Requirements
