About The Position

Waynflete School is seeking a reliable, part-time Custodian to perform daily maintenance and cleaning tasks essential to campus operations. Working independently, the Custodian helps ensure facilities meet high standards of cleanliness and safety for the school community. The role includes following the school's custodial task list, managing cleaning supplies, reporting maintenance issues, assisting with snow and ice removal after winter storms, and preparing for school events.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent training.
• Knowledge of the safe use of cleaning supplies and associated equipment in a school setting.
• Ability to navigate school security systems.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to perform work involving standing, walking, sitting, handling or feeling with the hands, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Ability to work in varying temperature and humidity conditions, on varying ground cover and flooring, and around cleaning-related odors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain school facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety for all community members.
• Perform daily hands-on cleaning duties.
• Refer to and comply with daily assignments in the school's custodial task list.
• Manage cleaning supplies and report campus maintenance issues to appropriate departments.
• Help ready the campus after winter storms, including shoveling snow and spreading ice melt.
• Assist with housekeeping preparations, setup, takedown, and cleanup for school events throughout the year.
• Navigate school security systems, including alarming buildings and locking doors.
