About The Position

This is an entry-level position suitable for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, ideal for freshmen or sophomores who have completed only introductory courses. The Custodian role is part of the Facilities Management department and involves maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various areas within the Polynesian Cultural Center.

Requirements

Must be able to lift items weighing up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
Must be capable of a full range of body movement.
Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
Should have a grammar school education.
No prior work experience necessary.
Must exemplify the University Honor Code, including the dress and grooming principles and expectations.
All applicants must be available for an on-site interview at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, HI.
Must attach resume and current schedule (weekly view).

Nice To Haves

Preference will be given to students who can work during academic breaks.

Responsibilities

Sweeps, mops, and polishes floors.
Vacuums and spot cleans carpets.
Removes trash from trash containers.
Removes water from walks and driveways.
Hoses down and pressure washes Pacific Pavilion, front entrance, IMAX, Concessions and Alii Luau areas, and any other walkway in assigned area(s) as needed.
