About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for students and staff. The custodian will maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas, including classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas. Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, emptying trash receptacles, and reporting any maintenance or repair needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Experience in a school or institutional setting.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the assigned area.
Clean windows, walls, and other surfaces as needed.
Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as directed.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of custodial closets and equipment.
Follow established safety procedures and guidelines.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
