Part-Time Custodian - Public Works

About The Position

The City of Festus Public Works Department is hiring a dependable, detail-oriented part-time custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for City employees and visitors. This is a non-exempt position working 20 hours per week at $18.00 per hour. Applications are accepted until the position is filled. After one year of service, eligible employees receive prorated vacation and sick leave.

Requirements

Valid Missouri driver's license.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening, physical examination, criminal history check, and background check.
Ability to perform the physical duties associated with custodial work.

Nice To Haves

Six months to one year of related custodial experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Clean, disinfect, and maintain City facilities, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
Empty trash receptacles and properly dispose of waste.
Clean windows, glass surfaces, fixtures, and other areas as needed.
Restock restroom and cleaning supplies.
Maintain cleaning equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.
Perform other related custodial duties as assigned.
