About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is seeking qualified individuals for Custodian roles on Oahu. These positions are integral to maintaining the cleanliness and safety of various facilities, including schools, offices, and medical buildings. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing restrooms, emptying trash, restocking supplies, and potentially performing minor repairs. Some roles may involve operating various cleaning equipment, setting up furniture for events, and ensuring areas are secure. A valid Hawaii driver's license and reliable vehicle are preferred or required for some positions, along with the ability to commute to assigned work sites. Experience in cleaning is preferred for some roles, and supervisory experience is required for the Custodian - Site Supervisor position.

Detail oriented (for Maintenance Painter/Drywall Technician)
Excellent hand-eye coordination (for Maintenance Painter/Drywall Technician)

Responsibilities

Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors
Dusting surfaces
Sanitizing restrooms
Emptying recycling bins/trash receptacles
Restocking supplies
Performing minor repairs or maintenance tasks
Setting up or breaking down furniture for events
Ensuring all areas are secure after cleaning
Operating various cleaning equipment such as buffer machines, ride-behind machines, side-by-side machines, floor scrubbers, shampoo carpet machines, leaf blowers, and pressure washers
Overseeing and coordinating cleaning and maintenance activities
Managing a team of custodians
Performing inspections to assess cleanliness
Providing training for custodial staff
Communicating by phone and email
Maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies/equipment
Serving as the primary point of contact between the custodial team and building management
Addressing any issues or concerns promptly
General maintenance and repairs of facility equipment and property structures
Grounds maintenance
Painting, texturing, drywall repair
Assisting with luggage transport
Managing pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the porte-cochère
Facilitating a seamless flow of arrivals and departures
