About The Position

Verde Clean is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming facilities. The role involves cleaning and disinfecting facility surfaces and restrooms, replenishing supplies, maintaining floors, identifying and reporting hazards, and providing courteous assistance to staff, visitors, and team members. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., at $17 per hour. Verde Clean is a minority-owned, eco-friendly facilities services company founded in 2019. Its stated mission is to provide clean spaces while supporting sustainability and community well-being. The position may involve prolonged exposure to summer heat and varying weather conditions. Team members participate in daily stretch and flex sessions.

Requirements

At least one year of janitorial or cleaning experience is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to use cleaning equipment and knowledge of safety protocols.
Ability to work independently and interact courteously with others.
Ability to tolerate and work safely in high-temperature environments while following safety procedures and hydration guidelines.
Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout a shift on varied surfaces; climb stairs and navigate multi-floor facilities as needed.
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds unassisted, and up to 35 pounds infrequently.
Ability to push and maneuver loaded janitorial carts, trash receptacles, and supply carts weighing up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 35 pounds infrequently.
Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, and reach overhead up to 8 feet using a step stool or ladder; repeatedly twist and extend the arms and shoulders while cleaning.
Ability to repeatedly grip, squeeze, and manipulate cleaning tools, spray bottles, brooms, mops, and equipment controls; sufficient manual dexterity to operate floor buffers, auto scrubbers, wet/dry vacuums, and steam cleaners.
Ability to identify areas requiring cleaning, inspect surfaces for soil and residue, read product labels and safety data sheets (SDS), and distinguish colors to sort waste streams and identify chemical products.
Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including outdoor and high-humidity areas such as restrooms and kitchens, and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, and allergens while following PPE and safety protocols.
Ability to maintain consistent physical output throughout the shift with standard rest breaks.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, and counters.
Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
Restock restroom essentials such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels; fill dispensers and monitor supplies throughout the facility.
Identify safety hazards and report them to the supervisor.
Help maintain a secure and safe environment for building occupants.
Provide courteous, helpful assistance to staff, visitors, and fellow team members.
