About The Position

Eastern Pulaski Elementary School is seeking a dedicated, reliable Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This is a full-time day-shift position requiring attention to detail, commitment to cleanliness and safety, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The custodian may also assist during special events as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety standards.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with students, staff, and the community.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and techniques.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Must pass background checks required by school district policies.
• Availability to work full-time during the day shift and flexibility to assist during special events as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous custodial or maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Use cleaning supplies and equipment properly and safely, following established safety protocols.
• Monitor and restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper.
• Set up and take down furniture and equipment for school events and activities as needed.
• Collaborate with staff to support a positive, clean learning environment.
• Follow school policies and procedures, including health and safety requirements.
• Participate in required training and professional development.
