About The Position

Performs repetitive manual work involving the efficient cleaning of a Recreation Center and its grounds, along with project work. Applies specific procedures to recurring situations and performs other duties as assigned. The role is responsible for the safe and proper use of cleaning materials and equipment, provides customer service, and helps prepare rooms for rentals, programs, and special events. The position requires good physical condition and the ability to perform the job as described in the Physical and Environmental Demands section. Applicants are subject to criminal history and Child Protective Services background checks with acceptable results. Following a conditional offer, the candidate must pass a post-offer physical examination. The schedule must be flexible and may include nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Requirements

Prior experience cleaning buildings.
Good knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment safely, efficiently, and effectively.
Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions, including cautions and directions on custodial materials.
Good physical condition.
Subject to criminal history and Child Protective Services background checks with acceptable results.
Must pass a post-offer physical examination following a conditional offer of employment.
Must be able to perform the job as described in the Physical and Environmental Demands section.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Nice To Haves

High school graduation or equivalent.
Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.

Responsibilities

Use materials and equipment safely and properly, including chemicals, vacuums, buffers, and carpet extractors.
Sweep, vacuum, mop, and wax floors.
Dust, clean, and polish furniture and woodwork.
Clean restrooms and fixtures and replenish paper products.
Clean interior and exterior glass partitions and glass doors.
Remove trash from all containers.
Request cleaning supplies and equipment as required.
Perform routine cleaning tasks.
Assist with maintenance of exterior grounds.
Set up and break down rooms for rentals, programs, and special events.
Attend monthly safety meetings.
Provide customer service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
