About The Position

The City of Festus is hiring a part-time Custodian for the Festus Public Library. This role is responsible for routine cleaning, custodial maintenance, and general upkeep of the library facility to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patrons and staff. The position is non-exempt, scheduled for 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and pays $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possess a valid Missouri driver's license.
Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screenings, including a drug screening, physical examination, criminal history check, and background check.
Ability to work independently, manage assigned responsibilities efficiently, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation.

Nice To Haves

Six months to one year of related custodial and janitorial experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

Clean, sanitize, and maintain library facilities, including restrooms and common areas.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
Empty trash receptacles and maintain cleanliness of waste disposal areas.
Dust furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.
Restock restroom and cleaning supplies.
Maintain a clean and inviting lobby and entrance area.
Perform other related duties as required.
