About The Position

Culver Academies is seeking a Custodian to help maintain the cleanliness of Academy buildings. This role involves performing scheduled custodial work, which may include cleaning floors, furniture, chalkboards and erasers, drinking fountains, restrooms, showers, walls, light fixtures, windows, and other glass areas. The custodian may also operate powered floor-cleaning equipment, rearrange furniture for thorough cleaning, remove building trash, care for school property adjacent to buildings, and sweep walkways. On-the-job training is provided. The position pays $15.50 per hour and is scheduled from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid Indiana driver's license and a good driving record.
Physical ability to meet job requirements, including reaching with hands and arms, lifting and carrying at least 25 pounds, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and extensive walking.

Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness of Academy buildings.
Clean floors, furniture, chalkboards and erasers, drinking fountains, toilets, urinals, showers, walls, light fixtures, windows, and glass areas according to the assigned schedule.
Wash, scour, polish, and perform other custodial work.
Operate power-driven floor sweepers, scrubbers, carpet cleaners, and waxing machines.
Rearrange furniture to clean areas thoroughly.
Remove trash from buildings, care for school property adjacent to buildings, and sweep walkways.
