About The Position

The Custodian performs routine cleaning and related work in the physical plant and assists with maintaining the buildings so they remain in operating order and available for educational use. The position works 8.0 hours per day on a normal 259-day contract year running July through June, including 8 paid holidays. Requirements

• Considerable knowledge of modern cleaning methods and the use and care of cleaning materials and equipment.
• Reasonable knowledge of standard practices, methods, tasks, and materials used to maintain school buildings and grounds safely, cleanly, and efficiently.
• Reasonable knowledge of procedures and techniques for routine electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
• Ability to read and write at the 10th-grade level.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Physical strength to perform custodial tasks, including repeatedly lifting more than 50 pounds.
• Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with students, fellow employees, and the general public.
• Demonstrated high moral standards and character necessary for working around children.
• The Board may find alternatives to the listed qualifications appropriate and acceptable.
