About The Position

The State of Georgia is seeking a Custodian PT for South Georgia Technical College. This is a part-time temporary position, up to 25 hours per week. The role is responsible for performing custodial duties to maintain the proper care of the college's buildings and facilities. This includes cleaning, replacing supplies and lightbulbs, moving furniture, and setting up for events. The position also involves maintaining tools and equipment and picking up trash.

Requirements

Knowledge of custodial tools and methods, safety guidelines, college policies and procedures.
Skill in the use of cleaning tools and supplies.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be student-oriented and customer-friendly.
Ability to push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently.
Ability to walk and stand for 4-8 hours.
Ability to grip, hold, and turn objects in his/her hands.
Ability to exert 25-49 lbs. of force occasionally.
Candidates must pass a criminal background check, MVR, and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

Six months of work experience in the field or a related field within the last 3 years.
Ability to operate custodial equipment, including carpet/floor machines.
A regionally accredited high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Performing custodial duties for the college.
Maintaining proper care of South Georgia Technical College’s buildings and facilities.
Cleaning.
Replacing bathroom supplies and lightbulbs.
Moving furniture.
Setting up chairs, tables, podiums, etc. for special events and college functions.
Maintaining tools and equipment needed for the position.
Picking up trash.
