Performs custodial duties at County facilities and grounds.
Requirements
Completion of tenth grade
One year of experience in custodial duties
Knowledge of cleaning supplies, products, and equipment.
Knowledge of safety procedures in use of cleaning supplies, products, and equipment.
Ability to provide effective guidance, training, and direction to other custodians.
Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of others.
Ability to effectively work with others.
Ability to prepare and maintain records, logs, lists, and reports.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
Walk, stand for long periods of time, kneel, crouch and work outside in a subtropical climate under adverse weather.
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Maintain the ability to pass the background checks required for the position.
Possess the necessary job related license(s) or certification(s) that may include possession of a Florida Driver License (Class E) or an applicable Commercial Driver License (CDL).
Responsibilities
Inspects facilities and grounds for custodial related needs such as, cleaning, repairs, maintenance, and supplies.
Inspects work of assigned custodians, and provides lead-worker guidance, training, and direction, as needed.
Dusts, polishes, moves, and arranges furniture.
Sweeps, mops, waxes, and polishes floors.
Cleans and washes windows and mirrors.
Cleans restrooms and replaces supplies.
Empties garbage cans and wastebaskets.
Performs minor repairs and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
Reports requirement for major repairs, adjustments, or replacements.
Inventories, orders, and replenishes paper products, cleaning supplies and related equipment.
Opens and secures facilities, common areas, and grounds, as directed.
