About The Position

The Custodian/Janitorial position performs janitorial duties to maintain and protect assigned areas and ensure that the interior and exterior of buildings are clean, organized, and meet company standards. The role follows standard work and daily checklists, maintains restrooms, locker rooms, lunchrooms, floors, furniture, windows, waste containers, building fixtures, and grounds, and may perform minor repairs. The position has no direct supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

Proven experience as a janitor or in a similar role.
Knowledge of the use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
Familiarity with handyman tasks and basic landscaping practices.
Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
Respectful and able to take direction.
Ability to work with little supervision.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal workplace instructions.
Ability to work up to 12 hours per day, including Saturday and Sunday.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to routinely lift 50 or more pounds unassisted.
Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
Ability to perform regular walking, bending, lifting, stretching, and twisting.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree.
Minimum 2 years of professional janitorial experience.

Responsibilities

Follow standard work and daily checklists to complete assigned tasks to standard.
Clean and make minor repairs to building fixtures, including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters, and drains.
Clean, sanitize, and stock restrooms and locker rooms.
Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors.
Empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers.
Use ladders when required for work assignments.
Remove outside debris and maintain grounds as assigned.
Maintain landscaping around buildings and fence lines.
Clean indoor windows.
Clean and sanitize lunchroom floors, furniture, and counters.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
