About The Position

The Custodian I maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within facilities across the United States. The role performs routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to meet established hygiene and safety standards, manages waste disposal, sanitizes surfaces, and addresses minor repairs as needed. The position supports building occupants and facility operations, working independently or as part of a team. The schedule is listed as “Day Shit: Mon- Fri: 7am-4:30pm,” with 80 hours bi-weekly.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be a sole U.S. citizen without dual citizenship.
Must successfully pass background screening requirements, including criminal history, education, credit, and drug screening, and obtain any required program-specific credentials and certifications.
Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial or institutional setting.
Familiarity with safety standards and chemical handling procedures.
Basic maintenance or handyman skills.
Strong time management and organizational abilities.
Good communication skills for interacting effectively with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Perform daily cleaning throughout the premises, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing floors and surfaces.
Restock supplies.
Tend furnaces and boilers, perform routine maintenance activities, notify management of repair needs, and clean snow or debris from sidewalks as duties may require.
Monitor building security and safety, including locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure hazards are not created.
