About The Position

The custodian maintains a clean working environment for all staff and visitors, ensuring all areas are safe. This role involves routine cleaning of various areas including dorms, apartments, offices, and common areas. The custodian is responsible for sanitizing restrooms, cleaning and maintaining floors, dusting furniture, emptying trash, cleaning windows, and maintaining outside areas. Additionally, the role requires reporting any malfunctions or damages to supervisors and assisting with moving furniture, equipment, or fixtures for events. Safety procedures, including the proper use of chemicals and personal protective equipment, are paramount. The position also involves assisting with deliveries and maintaining professional relationships with staff and clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18
  • Have the ability to obtain a State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • PASS DRUG SCREEN. (NEED MEDICAL CARD FOR POSITIVE RESULTS)
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • CPR-First Aid certification within 90 days of employment
  • Naloxone (Narcan) training within 90 days of employment

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine cleaning of dorms, apartments, offices and common areas
  • Clean and sanitize all restrooms; stock areas with supplies such as hand soap, paper towels and toilet paper
  • Clean, mop, wash, buff and vacuum floors
  • Dust, clean and polish furniture and fixtures
  • Empty all trash and remove to outside dumpsters
  • Clean windows
  • Maintain outside areas and parking lot as directed, sweeping debris and washing walkways
  • Report malfunction of bathroom fixtures, light fixtures, and/or damages to room and dorm furnishings to supervisor and initiate work orders for repair / maintenance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Follow all safety procedures for equipment and job functions and use personal protective equipment
  • Use chemicals per OSHA and MSDS regulations
  • Perform routine safety inspections on equipment
  • Clean spills using blood born pathogen kits and/or OSHA approved spill kits
  • Assist in moving furniture, equipment or fixtures, set up for meetings, parties and other events
  • Assist in receiving donations or other deliveries as directed
