About The Position

The Custodial role maintains floors, furnishings, fixtures, restrooms, trash containers, and dumpster areas across Zippo workplace facilities. The position uses cleaning equipment and approved safe methods, performs daily equipment maintenance, and completes related duties or special assignments as directed. Smoking is permitted in most facility areas, except for certain designated non-smoking areas.

Requirements

• Qualify for a fork truck operator’s license.
• Use approved, safe methods for restroom cleaning and safe disposal techniques for ashtrays.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, dust, and mop floors, carpeting, upholstered furniture, and entries as required.
• Shampoo carpets as needed.
• Operate facility power sweepers and power scrubbers.
• Mop and buff hard floors, or strip and wax them as needed.
• Qualify for a fork truck operator’s license to handle cardboard crushing and related tasks.
• Complete daily equipment maintenance.
• Handle bulk trash from offices, the plant, and cafeterias; dispose of cardboard as required; and clean and maintain trash containers and dumpster areas.
• Empty and clean ashtrays using a safe disposal technique.
• Clean, dust, or polish hard surfaces, tables, chairs, ledges, and baseboards.
• Clean or spot-clean drinking fountains, mirrors, bulletin board lights, and glass.
• Clean walls, urinals, toilets, fixtures, and restroom stalls using approved, safe methods; restock restroom supplies.
• Perform related duties or special assignments as directed.
