Custodial Worker - Downtown Cleveland (M-F, 11:00am - 7:00pm)
About The Position
The general custodian/ utility and floor care professional will be responsible for completing assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account. This role requires completing all tasks in the specified allotted time and ensuring a high level of quality. Duties include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming various areas, cleaning furniture, emptying trash, handling recycling, sanitizing bathrooms, refilling restroom dispensers, operating power vacuums, and using proper cleaning chemicals and techniques. The position also involves assisting with facility setups for events, following instructions from the Account Manager, adhering to daily job routines and cleaning procedures, and following all safety procedures when operating equipment. The Custodial Worker must inform the Account Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences and ensure a level of cleanliness that meets customer expectations. Maintaining equipment, supplies, and supply rooms in an orderly fashion, regular attendance, and maintaining a positive work atmosphere are also key responsibilities. The role requires following agency safety policies and maintaining a safe work environment.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass federal clearance process as required by site.
- Ability to provide a valid REAL ID to initiate the federal clearance process.
- All application questions must be completed and the application must be signed.

Responsibilities
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.
- Cleans, dusts, and wipes furniture.
- Empties/cleans wastebaskets and trash containers; empties and cleans ash trays and cigarette urns.
- Handles recycling materials.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs and sanitizes bathrooms.
- Refills restroom dispensers.
- Operates a power vacuum.
- Selects proper chemicals, controls dilution ratios and uses proper techniques for the area cleaned.
- Follows all manufacturers recommendations for use of all cleaning solutions.
- Properly stocks cart.
- Assists with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
- Follows all instructions of the Account Manager.
- Follows the daily job routine in the order it is outlined.
- Uses the correct step-by-step procedures for each cleaning task.
- Follows all safety procedures when operating equipment.
- Informs the Account Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences on the job.
- Ensures a level of cleanliness which meets the quality expectations of the customer.
- Maintains all equipment, supplies, and supply rooms in an orderly fashion.
- Maintains regular attendance.
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a positive manner that gets along with customers, vendors, program participants, co-workers and supervisors.
- Responsible for following agency safety policies and maintaining a safe work environment.
