Custodial Worker
About The Position
The Custodial Worker keeps an assigned area clean and orderly. The role is located at the MD Justice Center Gerstein Building in Miami, Florida, and is a full-time, day-shift position. The position requires no specified education level and pays $18.40 per hour. The worker performs general custodial duties and may be assigned other duties common to this type of work. The work includes sweeping and mopping floors and step wells, using peroxide chemical detergent and NABC cleaning/disinfectant products, and wearing required personal protective equipment. The role involves physical activity, including lifting and moving up to 25 pounds. The work environment may occasionally involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, and noise is usually moderate.
Requirements
- Three months of cleaning experience.
- Prior related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate problems to the immediate supervisor.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, handling materials, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Demonstrated customer service, oral communication, respect for cultural differences, integrity, quality, productivity, safety, adaptability, punctuality, dependability, and initiative.
Responsibilities
- Sweep floors to remove dirt and trash.
- Mop floors and step wells to remove soil and dirt.
- Use peroxide chemical detergent and NABC cleaning/disinfectant products.
- Wear required personal protective equipment, including goggles, gloves, and a mask.
- Communicate problems to the immediate supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
