Custodial Worker 1 - Region 1
About The Position
The Department of General Services is seeking a Custodial Worker 1 for its Harrisburg Regional Division. The position performs general cleaning of offices, restrooms, and public areas and maintains an assigned area in a clean and orderly condition. The work supports a safe environment, smooth operations, and a positive experience for building users. This is an essential position. The employee must report in person during emergencies and office closings. The job is full-time, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM and a 60-minute lunch. Telework is not available.
Requirements
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restroom surfaces and fixtures and keep restroom supplies stocked.
- Dust and clean furniture, equipment, windows, and other items in offices and rooms.
- Sweep, mop, buff, and vacuum floors and perform routine and detailed floor care.
- Collect and transport trash and recycling to designated pickup areas.
- Operate cleaning tools and machinery and perform basic maintenance as needed.
- Remove snow and debris from building entrances, sidewalks, and surrounding areas when needed.
- Maintain an assigned area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Report to the workplace during emergencies and office closings.
