About The Position
The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, Clarks Summit State Hospital is seeking an actively motivated and service-oriented individual to join our Environmental Services Department, Custodial Worker Team. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will make a positive impact every day keeping the hospital clean, safe, and welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors. This position supports the daily cleanliness and safety of the hospital environment while following standards and procedures.
Requirements
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Perform floor care, restroom cleaning, dusting, and other sanitation duties across assigned areas
- Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely and follow all safety procedures
- Operate floor care tools, carts, and other housekeeping equipment and maintain them properly
- Move, transport, and organize supplies, linen, and equipment within assigned locations
- Report hazards, follow instructions, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
