About The Position

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI) is seeking a Custodial Worker to join our team! This is a full-time position with a Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. schedule and opportunity for advancement, growth, and development. The Custodial Worker performs manual labor tasks to clean and sanitize public buildings, offices, and patient wards, and related work as required. The primary responsibility of this position is to clean assigned areas so that a sanitary environment is maintained for facility patients, staff, and guests. Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position. IMHI provides inpatient treatment and acute psychiatric services, including individualized treatment plans and support for children and adolescent patients to continue their education. Individuals are encouraged to collaborate with staff members in formulating their own plan. Medication, group counseling, and activities therapies might be included as well. Requirements

Graduation from high school, GED, or equivalency.
One year of full-time work experience in commercial building maintenance or housekeeping.
