About The Position
DM Burr is hiring a full-time Custodial Supervisor at Washtenaw Intermediate School District in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The role is scheduled for the second shift, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., at $20.75 per hour. The supervisor manages the custodial department at the assigned facility, oversees staff and work assignments, and supports facility operations. The position also includes light building maintenance and assisting with cleaning as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two or more years of previous management experience focused on facilities management.
- Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Positive attitude that supports team performance and productivity.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Team aptitude and approach.
- Ability to pass a criminal and drug screening.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Flexible availability.
Responsibilities
- Manage, supervise, and direct the custodial department within the assigned facility.
- Research and resolve problems related to facility operational issues.
- Select and assign staff, ensuring equal opportunity in hiring and promotion.
- Evaluate and verify employee performance by reviewing completed work assignments and work techniques.
- Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing subordinate employees.
- Assign coverage and provide special cleaning instructions or assignments.
- Identify staff development and training needs and ensure training is obtained.
- Make rounds to check crew coverage and designated work areas.
- Conduct inspections and investigate customer concerns.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies needed for site functions.
- Follow company safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose work-related correspondence.
- Perform light building maintenance.
- Assist with cleaning as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or needed.
