About The Position

VGS, Inc. is seeking a Custodial Supervisor for Youngstown State University. This role involves scheduling staff, ensuring adequate coverage, and overseeing daily cleaning tasks according to established procedures and manufacturer guidelines. The supervisor is responsible for maintaining supplies and equipment, resolving staff issues, and ensuring a high level of cleanliness that meets customer expectations. The position also includes assisting with staff reviews and performing payroll duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Two years related experience and/or training preferred.
Ability to multi-task.
Strong communication skills.
Must have completed all application questions and sign the application to be eligible for hire.

Previous supervisor experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Schedule staff and assure adequate coverage for site duties.
Follow the daily job routine in the order it is outlined.
Use the correct step by step procedure for each cleaning task.
Follow manufacturer's recommendations for use of all cleaning solutions and equipment.
Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment.
Assign tasks to workers, and inspect completed work for conformance to standards.
Maintain, order and issue supplies and equipment including inventory of needed supplies.
Maintain all equipment, supplies, or supply rooms in and orderly fashion.
Resolve workers' problems or refer matters to Area Manager.
Submit requests for repair of equipment to Area Manager.
Assist in performing duties of workers supervised.
Ensure a level of cleanliness which meets the quality expectations of the customer.
Interact with fellow employees and public caretaker in a courteous and friendly manner.
Contribute information for employees' annual reviews as requested.
Perform and complete payroll as required.
