Part Time Custodial Associate
About The Position
The Custodial Associate maintains a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor scrubbers and buffers; dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows. The associate upholds operational, merchandise, loss prevention, health, and safety standards, and is cross-trained to support multiple store areas as business needs require. The position is part-time at the Marshalls store in Lewisville, Texas. The starting pay range is $13.00 to $13.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
- Able to multitask.
- Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including listening and responding appropriately.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Able to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities
- Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including the maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer.
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
- Follow company health and safety policies, including replenishing essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
- Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor.
- Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
- Uphold the merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
- Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction practices.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
- Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including associate meal and break-period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
