About The Position

The Department of Epidemiology has an outstanding opportunity for a Curriculum & Student Services Specialist (Temporary) to join their team. Reporting to Academic Services-Assistant Director, the Curriculum & Student Services Specialist is responsible for supporting the Department of Epidemiology’s academic mission by coordinating curriculum operations, accreditation activities, and student services for graduate programs. This position collaborates extensively with faculty, students, and university partners to ensure effective curriculum planning, compliance with university and accreditation standards, and a high-quality student experience from recruitment through graduation. This position is based on the University of Washington Seattle campus and works closely with faculty, students, and staff across the Department of Epidemiology and the School of Public Health. A hybrid work arrangement may be available, with opportunities for partial telework based on operational needs and department policy. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with occasional flexibility required to support events, meetings, and student activities. The estimated duration of this temporary assignment is ~12 months.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • At least two years of student counseling, teaching or related experience.

  • Experience engaging with faculty, staff, students, and prospective students in support of curriculum and enrollment needs

Responsibilities

  • Support curriculum governance and planning activities, including coordinating Curriculum Committee operations, managing course development and approval processes, maintaining curriculum and course information, coordinating accreditation and graduate program review activities, analyzing curriculum data, and supporting long-range course planning and scheduling.
  • Manage day-to-day curriculum operations, including course registration and access processes, enrollment management, grading workflows, course evaluations, faculty and student support, curriculum communications, and maintenance of curriculum records and reports.
  • Provide advising and administrative support to current students related to degree requirements, registration, practicum processes, doctoral examinations, tutoring services, student communications, and navigation of university policies and resources.
  • Support recruitment and admissions activities by communicating with prospective students, assisting with application processing and review coordination, responding to admissions inquiries, and maintaining applicant records and databases.
  • Coordinate and support logistics for student events, including orientations, recruitment events, visit days, graduation activities, and related event planning and setup.
