About The Position

Green Tree School & Services in Philadelphia provides full-time, out-of-district programs for students with autism and emotional support needs. With integrated clinical, behavioral, and academic services, Green Tree School & Services empowers students to achieve independence while upholding values of safety, inclusion, and excellence. As a Curriculum & Instructional Specialist at Green Tree School, you will provide non-evaluative, job-embedded coaching and curriculum support to teaching teams across Autism, Emotional Support, and Verbal Behavior programs. You’ll help educators strengthen evidence-based instruction, align academic and social-skills curricula, use student data effectively, and create meaningful learning experiences for students with complex needs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field
  • Valid Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certificate
  • Three or more years of special education teaching experience
  • Knowledge of special education regulations, IEP requirements, curriculum design, and evidence-based instructional practices
  • Experience using formal and informal assessments to guide instructional plans, IEPs, behavior intervention plans, and progress monitoring
  • Ability to model effective instructional strategies and support adult learners
  • Strong relationship-building, organization, communication, and professional writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, instructional technology, and curriculum software
  • Valid Act 34, Act 151, and Act 114 clearances

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized and team-based coaching through structured cycles that include pre-conferencing, observation or modeling, debriefing, and follow-up
  • Design and facilitate professional development aligned with school goals, student IEPs, and evidence-based practices
  • Lead Professional Learning Community cycles focused on collaboration, student-data review, and shared instructional planning
  • Support teachers with curriculum mapping, unit planning, formative assessment, progress monitoring, and data-driven instructional decisions
  • Align reading, writing, and math instruction with social-skills learning, functional communication, self-regulation, and behavioral competencies
  • Support consistent curriculum, instructional materials, and assessment practices across Autism, Emotional Support, and Verbal Behavior programs
  • Help teachers select and implement instructional strategies and interventions based on individual student needs
  • Mentor new teachers and collaborate with educational leaders, specialists, related service providers, families, and external partners
  • Support school-wide testing procedures, staff preparation, and the use of assessment results in instructional planning
  • Maintain coaching logs, monitor program implementation, and provide written updates on instructional effectiveness
