About The Position
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of curriculum committee member for the English as a New Language (ENL) Grades K-5 committee. This committee will serve as needed from September 2026 to June 2027. This posting replaces all other ENL Curriculum Committee postings and the current ENL Curriculum Committee application.
Requirements
- Hold a New York State teacher certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
- Be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a probationary or tenured teacher.
- Have knowledge of the Next Generation Learning Standards, Commissioner Regulations Part 154 (CR-Part 154) Units of Studies and the Blueprint for English Language Learner/Multilingual Learner (ELL/MLL) Success.
- Have taught in the grade band associated with the posting.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with the Division of Multilingual Education and/or curriculum administrators.
- Complete various assignments within a specific time frame.
- Develop frameworks and relevant content for English Language Learners during both standalone and integrated periods.
- Take part in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills needed to fulfill responsibilities related to committee work.
