About The Position

The Curbside Shopper performs general warehouse and digital order fulfillment activities, including pulling merchandise from a pick list, verifying items and counts with a handheld scanner, and moving merchandise from the sales floor to a staging area. The role supports BJ’s digital initiatives, including BOPIC, Curbside, Express Pay, and Ship from Club, and requires timely, accurate order fulfillment in accordance with standard operating procedures and productivity expectations.

The position also supports a positive member experience, club policies and safety standards, and daily GOLD Member and Club Standards. Responsibilities include organizing the OMNI storage area, securely packaging orders, handling returns and damaged or spoiled products, and maintaining a clean work area. Team members may be assigned duties in other departments as needed.

Requirements

• Previous order-pulling experience preferred.
• Big-box or wholesale retail experience preferred.
• Previous RF scanner experience preferred.
• Ability to continuously lift objects up to 50 pounds.
• May need to lift and move heavy or awkward objects weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to work while moving about continuously on hard surfaces and to bend, climb, crawl, handle, pull, reach, stoop, position oneself, and scan merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Pull merchandise from pick lists and process member purchases in a fast, courteous, and friendly manner.
• Use handheld RF scanner devices to pick orders and verify merchandise.
• Move merchandise from the sales floor to the staging area.
• Communicate inventory or equipment problems, expired or short-dated items, and replenishment needs to the appropriate club team members.
• Work with the team to pull merchandise from the reserve area when possible to avoid sales floor replenishment.
• Complete orders promptly and meet productivity requirements, deadlines, service level agreements, performance metrics, and goals.
• Follow operational efficiencies, processes, and established standard operating procedures for BOPIC, Curbside, and Ship from Club.
• Work with club leadership to address individual performance when metrics are not met.
• Package orders securely in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Keep the SFC area and OMNI storage bins clean, neat, organized, and maintained to safety standards.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including removing trash and cardboard from the work area.
• Handle damaged goods and spoiled products in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Process returns to the club and determine how to handle them through DDR or the Membership desk.
• Deliver service excellence, address and deescalate member concerns, and maintain a safe, positive environment for members and coworkers.
• Follow club policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and dress code standards.
• Attend work regularly and predictably; full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
