About The Position

As an Event Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to select which community event to supervise, meet new people, and learn about different cultures. This is an on-call position with no guaranteed number of hours. Scheduling is based solely on the operational needs of the Multi-Cultural Center and your availability. Hours are assigned only when an event requires staff coverage and are not regularly scheduled. As such, there may be periods when no work is scheduled. This position may require evening and weekend hours, with schedules varying based on the needs of each event.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills demonstrated with confidence and respect.
  • Available to work weekends and evenings.
  • Sensitive to special needs and cultural differences.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Willingness to submit to record checks to detect criminal convictions of behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, distributing drugs or sex crimes.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one with approved driver status.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience coordinating event preparations preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for groups using the Coliseum.
  • Provide a welcoming presence.
  • Ensure the group has what they need.
  • Offer support throughout the event.
  • Greet group leaders.
  • Maintain communication.
  • Operate lights and basic AV or kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure policies are followed.
  • Provide general oversight of the event.
  • Confirm the facility is secure once the event concludes.
