About The Position
Avista Senior Living is offering a Culinary High School Internship for high school students at Mesa Public Schools interested in cooking, hospitality, or healthcare. This program provides a hands-on opportunity to learn essential kitchen skills and explore career paths within a senior living community. Students will gain practical experience in professional culinary operations while contributing to the well-being of older adults.
Requirements
- High school juniors or seniors (preferred)
- Students interested in culinary arts, hospitality, or healthcare
- Motivated, reliable, and eager to learn
- Able to follow directions and work in a team environment
- No prior kitchen experience required
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including washing, chopping, and assembling ingredients.
- Support meal service in dining rooms and resident areas.
- Learn and apply food safety and sanitation standards.
- Help with kitchen organization, cleaning, and stocking.
- Observe menu planning and dietary accommodations.
- Work alongside experienced culinary professionals.
