Culinary/Dietary Aide - Server
About The Position
Scenic Living Communities is seeking a dedicated Culinary/Dietary Aide to ensure residents and guests receive nutritious meals and an enjoyable dining experience. The role performs designated Dietary Department work and cleaning routines and helps create a relaxing, restaurant-style dining environment in a senior living community offering independent living, assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, and long-term care. The position is part-time, with openings also available for PRN work. Shifts generally run 4, 8, or 12 hours. Listed shift times are days, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.; evenings, 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.; and nights, 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m. The community is located in Iowa Falls, Iowa.
Requirements
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions, diet orders, tray cards, work assignments, and safety procedures.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduation or equivalent education (GED) is preferred but not required.
- ServSafe certification is encouraged but not required.
Responsibilities
- Help create a restaurant-style dining experience by serving meals, providing customer service, and collaborating with others.
- Follow written and oral instructions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments.
- Ensure meal orders are delivered accurately and special requests or dietary restrictions are noted and followed.
- Perform defined work routines.
- Assist with cleaning after meals and setting up for the next meal.
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies as directed by the Culinary Director.
- Attend scheduled department meetings and educational programs.
- Follow safety codes while performing duties.
- Follow infection control procedures.
- Know the community's fire and disaster plans and follow established procedures during drills and emergencies.
- Be knowledgeable about applicable federal, state, and community rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
