About The Position

Vista Prairie at Fieldcrest is an assisted living and memory care community in Sheldon, Iowa. The part-time Culinary / Dietary Aide serves dinner to residents, helping ensure meals are served warm and in accordance with residents’ dietary needs and preferences. The role includes evening shifts from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, a few shifts during the week, and work every other weekend and holiday.

Requirements

• Able to read and follow written directions, such as diet cards and menus.
• Available to work the stated schedule, including every other weekend and holiday.
• Pass a background check before the start date.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Restaurant, cafeteria, or food service experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve evening meals to residents in the dining room.
• Follow each resident’s diet card, including allergies, texture needs, and personal preferences.
• Respond promptly and kindly to residents’ requests.
• Set tables, clear dishes, and keep serving areas clean.
• Close down the dining room so it is ready for the morning.
• Notify a supervisor immediately if a meal or diet order appears incorrect.
